Baldwin Hills Crenshaw To Host First-Ever July 4th Extravaganza

Free community event to feature the first and only fireworks display in the Crenshaw District

LOS ANGELES, June 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Baldwin Hills Crenshaw is celebrating Independence Day in style this year, with its first-ever "Fireworks Spectacular" featuring free live entertainment, food, local artists and retail vendors on the brand-new open air promenade. It will be the only fireworks display on the Crenshaw Corridor for the holiday.

The fun begins at 5:00pm with pre-show entertainment by DJ Paradise and a variety of food options including barbeque dishes, $3 chicken bowls from Saffron, Rave Cinemas concessions and selections from Buffalo Wild Wings. Mimi's Natural Body Care, A&B Accessories and other vendors from the mall will have carts open, and local artists will also showcase their paintings on the outdoor promenade.

The main concert begins at 6:30pm with music performances by the Polyester Players, Masta & the Edge of Soul, and Madame Dee, and to cap off an exciting evening, the mall will put on a spectacular 20-minute fireworks show overhead at 9:00pm.

Outdoor seating is on a first come first serve basis, so guests are encouraged to arrive early. Guests are also encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the concert and the fireworks show at the end of the night.
