Auto Industry Leaders Help Celebrate Autoline's 15th Anniversary

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Autoline This Week, the world's only television program focusing exclusively on the automotive industry, celebrates 15 years of journalistic excellence today at its new Farmington Hills studios.

Award-winning Journalist John McElroy first hosted Autoline This Week on September 21, 1997 from the WTVS studios in Detroit, Mich. The half-hour program, which won EMMY Awards for its coverage in 2008 and 2009, now airs on public television stations across the U.S. and Canada in over 50 markets. It is produced by Blue Sky Productions, Inc.

In addition to Autoline This Week, Blue Sky Productions produces several on-line programs including Autoline Daily, Autoline After Hours, and RoundAbout. It also produces automotive related videos. They can be seen at the website, www.Autoline.tv, as well as websites that carry Autoline's programs, such as YouTube and StreetFire.

Collectively, Autoline generates 18 million impressions a year with over 600,000 viewers, in 170 countries, who made over 4.5 million downloads in 2011.

"We've been overwhelmed by the support and participation we've received from the automotive community and the insights auto executives and guests routinely share," said McElroy. "Our viewers tell us they enjoy the candor and perspective our guests bring."

Hundreds of notable experts have shared their knowledge and insights over the years; many of them are gathering this afternoon at Autoline's studios to celebrate the anniversary. Autoline's milestones include: live broadcasts worldwide at major industry events with leaders such as Alan Mulally, CEO, Ford Motor Company; Stefan Jacoby, president and CEO, Volvo; Mark Reuss, president, GM North America; Rodney O'Neal, CEO and president, Delphi; John Krafcik, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America; and Dr. David Cole, chairman emeritus, Center for Automotive Research.

"Almost every notable automotive executive has appeared on Autoline Detroit at one time or another and it's their participation that has helped make it the success it is," McElroy added.
