Yvette Yates Shines as Female Lead in Warner Brothers/Joel Silver's Action Film "El Gringo" Out May 11

LOS ANGELES, April 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Yvette Yates is on the "Top Tens Who to Watch for in Hollywood" list. She is the female lead in Warner Brothers' action film produced by Joel Silver, "El Gringo" where she stars opposite Scott Adkins and Christian Slater. Yvette stars as ANNA, an attractive, fiery Mexican senorita who runs a cantina in the drug-ravaged border town. The plot centers on an American who crosses the border into Mexico with a bullet in his arm and $2.3 million in cash, looking to head to Acapulco and retire on the beach. But he discovers quickly that his plan is easier said than done. The film will premiere theatrically and VOD on May 11th 2012. It has been Miss Yates' most exhilarating role to date.

Yvette grew up in the towns of El Paso, Texas and CD Juarez, Chihuahua and it's from her past that she brings color to her roles, clear to anyone watching her on the big screen. In 2009, Yates placed 2nd in the Special Mention at the 13th Annual Los Angeles Latino Film Festival and was nominated in the categories of Best Actress in Film and Best Short at the 23rd Annual Imagen Awards 2008, and the Malibu International Film Festival 2008 for "Nina Quebrada".

Yvette has had much success with her latest four films including, "Without Men" with an impressive cast including Eva Longoria, Maria Conchita Alonso, Judy Reyes, Kate Del Castillo, Oscar Nunez, and Christian Slater among others. She can also be seen in the film (based on a play), "Water & Power" directed by Culture Clash's Richard Montoya. She's worked with Academy Award winner, Anna Paquin along with Drea de Matteo, and Cam Gigandet in "Free Ride" where Yvette plays an undercover narcotics agent. Her most recent work includes "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell", Rockstar's popular videogame "Red Dead Redemption" and will be seen in Comedy Central's "The Nick Show Kroll."

With five films out this year, Yvette is a role model to young girls and women. She shows that with drive, ambition and hard work anything is possible no matter where you come from.
