Andrew Geddis, Renowned Classical Guitarist and Director of Musica Elysii, Inc., Announces the Publication of His First Short Story, 'THE OBAMATRON'
"THE OBAMATRON" opens in the year 2022. Representing an unlikely confluence between politics and technology, it contains some intriguing mysteries and parallels the political atmosphere found in the U.S. in 2008
NEW YORK, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday, April 16th, Andrew Geddis, renowned classical guitarist, published his first short story, "THE OBAMBATRON," on his main platform http://www.andrewparadisemusic.com. The piece encompasses the genres of political commentary, tragi/comedy, horror and sci-fi and makes a direct reference to and critique of the events and issues of today.
Without revealing the plot of the story, what can be said is that it is humorous, expresses pathos and is beautiful and pays due reverence to all things regal and the beauty of the Earth. One of the many unique facets of "THE OBAMATRON" is that each person who reads it sees something in it that only they can see; as if it tells a story that speaks only to them in a very personal way. As the old saying goes, "Ask five economists and you'll get five different answers; six if one of them went to Harvard."
The responses it has received to date from a wide variety of readers have been both what was expected and desired. Jill Smolowe, author of "An Empty Lap," said that it was "Fun and elegant." Robert Ruck, renowned American luthier and, in Mr. Geddis' opinion, "The Stradivarius of the guitar," says, "I speed read your short story so don't give me a test on it. Funny!!!!!!" Jeanette McKee, Songstress and recording artist, said, "WOW - It's quite clever, descriptive and imaginative." James R. Leach Jr., Vice President of Writer/Publisher Relations for the West Coast Operations of SESAC, Inc., in response to this piece, sent an email to Andrew saying, "Thank you for sharing such a creative and thought-provoking story with me."
"THE OBAMATRON" is being offered free of charge at his main website and Mr. Geddis encourages his readers to download and share it with as many people as possible. He expects to generate revenue and income by including on his website a secure link to his PayPal account through which he will gladly accept any amount from his readers who are kind enough to help support his creative work.
Mr. Geddis, in the past, has had the honor and distinction of being a regular featured performer every Saturday night at the historic 3-star Four Seasons Restaurant on 52nd Street in Manhattan, located within the landmark Seagram Building. More currently, he has appeared and is expected to appear at Wave Hill Gardens in Riverdale, the Bronx, where Arturo Toscanini, Mark Twain and Teddy Roosevelt spent several years each when the land there was an estate and exclusive residence.
Musica Elysii was founded in January of 2010 and Mr. Geddis has since received three awards granted by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs for his classical guitar work. The name is taken from the Latin for "The Music of Elysium," or paradise, according to the ancient Romans and Greeks; Elysii being pronounced with the accent on the second syllable: "El iss i ee." Also taken from the Latin is the motto for the company: "Aliquid Dominae," meaning "Anything for The Lady."
