Stephen Daldry Joins the Board of Tuesday's Children
MANHASSET, N.Y., March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tuesday's Children, the leading non-profit working with children and families affected by the events of September 11, 2001, is pleased to welcome Stephen Daldry to its Board of Directors. Mr.Daldry is a three-time Academy Award nominated and Tony Award winning director. His films include Billy Elliot (2000), The Hours (2002), The Reader (2008) and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (2011).
During the filming of the Oscar-nominated Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Mr. Daldry took extraordinary measures to ensure an accurate and sensitive portrayal of those affected by the events of September 11, 2001 and developed a close relationship with Tuesday's Children, its staff and families. Mr. Daldry said, "I have a profound respect for the work of Tuesday's Children, and I am delighted to become even more involved as a Board member.
