"Bill White from Constellations Group approached us with a great project to honor an organization called UCLA's Operation Mend, whose main focus is to 'Heal the Wounds of War,'" said Ryan Friedlinghaus, founder and CEO of West Coast Customs. "This project was the most emotional build I've ever been a part of. The whole team showed passion and dedication to this build as a way of honoring the sacrifice of our men and women."
The men and women of the armed forces risk their lives on a daily basis to protect and defend our country--often times facing the enemy head on and suffering serious injuries as a result. Through the steadfast dedication and commitment of a few individuals, a support system for these wounded heroes was born. Enter UCLA's Operation Mend. The organization's aim is to provide severely wounded soldiers with the specialized treatments they require to re-enter society... comfortably. Many of the soldiers coming back state-side have been disfigured in their plight to protect the United States--and UCLA's Operation Mend, with its team of world-class cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons--providing their services free of charge--help boost the confidence of many of the program's patients.
With a brand new, 2011 Camaro as their platform--and the universal themes of honor, bravery, strength and courage as inspiration --- the crew is prepared to create the incredible. From the interior to the extensive custom airbrushed paint job, this Camaro, wrapped in Continental Tires, will be a SLP supercharged rolling accolade to our injured heroes. And the final salute will come during the final auction at Mecum Auctions where 100% of proceeds will benefit UCLA's Operation Mend program. It's WCC's way of saying thanks to the brave soldiers who put themselves in harm's way to preserve the American way of life.
