RJ Rockers to Be Featured on Food Network Canada's "Pitchin' In"

South Carolina Craft Brewery Included in January 30 Episode Focusing on Peach Products

SPARTANBURG, S.C., Jan. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Representatives from RJ Rockers, a Spartanburg-based craft brewery, today announced that the brand will be featured on Food Network Canada's "Pitchin' In" on Monday, January 30, at 11 p.m.

"Pitchin' In" focuses on the use of the freshest ingredients from around the world used in unique ways. For the January 30 episode, RJ Rockers' Son of a Peach seasonal brew will be profiled due to the inclusion of Carolina-grown peaches in the beer. The episode will feature peach selection, Chef Lynn preparing peaches for the beer, and the brewing process at RJ Rockers facilities and include interviews with key RJ Rockers personnel.

An unfiltered American wheat ale, Son of a Peach utilizes fresh South Carolina peaches in the brewing process to bring a unique flavor to this handcrafted brew. Son of a Peach will make its 2012 debut March 1 and will be available through August.

"We are very excited to be featured on 'Pitchin' In' due to the show's devotion to featuring the use of fresh foods in unique ways," said Henry Depew, president of RJ Rockers. "With Son of a Peach, we feel RJ Rockers delivers a unique, handcrafted beer that uses ingredients that are native to our region of the United States. We appreciate the opportunity to be included in this great Food Network show, as Chef Lynn and her crew were a delight to work with and we look forward to tuning in on January 30."

About RJ Rockers

Established in 1997, RJ Rockers Brewing Company is based in Spartanburg, S.C. Founded by Mark Johnsen, RJ Rockers came into being when Johnsen set out on a mission to provide the people of upstate South Carolina with the best microbrewed beer they had ever tasted. Following his service in the 1991 Gulf War, Johnsen was stationed in Germany as a member of the United States armed forces, and he took this opportunity to learn as much as possible about brewing from the experts.

RJ Rockers' brewhouse features a 30-barrel brewing system. In 2012, production will be 15,000 bbls, continuing the fourth straight year of more than 100 percent growth. The brewery harnesses the power of the sun to heat over 60 percent of process water, recycles its spent grain to local farmers and continues to search for better, more sustainable ways to operate the business.

The brand currently features distribution in five states for 11 different handcrafted brews. These brews include: Son of a Peach; First Snow Ale; Patriot Pale Ale; Bell Ringer; Bald Eagle Brown Ale; Light Rock Ale; Buckwheat After Dark (Bad) Ale; Star Spangled Stout Ale; Rockhopper IPA; Black Perle Dark IPA; and Fish Paralyzer Belgian-Style Pale Ale.
