Hannover House Says Proposed Terminator 3000 Animated Feature Will Require Authorization and Approval of Rights Holders

NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to inaccurate and speculative internet rumors and reports, Hannover House, Inc., the newly rebranded corporate name for Target Development Group, Inc. (Pinksheets: TDGI), has released a statement covering the proposed animated feature film based on the "Terminator" feature film franchise.

Hannover House CEO Eric Parkinson released the following statement:

"Contrary to internet reports, Hannover House does not own or control any of the motion picture rights to the Terminator franchise, and the company does not have the ability to proceed with a proposed animated feature film without the expressed approval or license from the rights holders. The company has made no secret of our plans to pursue such a venture if the proper rights can be obtained. We have made significant progress with a concept that we feel would be very beneficial to expanding the audience for this major franchise. However, we will not and cannot proceed without the proper rights clearances, so any reports to the contrary are erroneous. It is also inaccurate to state that Arnold Schwarzenegger is attached as a voice talent performer for this proposed feature. We have made no such statement to that effect, and have made no statements or representations of any kind to suggest that Hannover House owns rights in this property. Through my previous position as CEO of Hemdale Communications, Inc., I have had a long association with the Terminator franchise, and would hope that our concept for a 3D, CGI-animated feature will eventually be embraced and approved by the rights holders. While we are impressed with the enthusiasm that fans and bloggers have expressed for this concept, we are concerned that the erroneous statements that have been fabricated in the absence of a formal statement are not helpful to the achievement of our goals."

Annapurna Films, the entertainment studio established by Megan Ellison, acquired the rights to the Terminator franchise last May.

Parkinson began development of an animated "Terminator" themed feature film more than 20 years ago while at Hemdale. The original film was produced by Hemdale, and released by Orion Pictures. Carolco licensed the rights in 1990 to make "Terminator 2" and since that time, the franchise rights have transferred several times as additional, live-action sequels were produced. All rights are currently vested with Annapurna Films.
