--Media General Now Subscribes to Rentrak in 13 of their 18 Stations which is Over 70% of Their TV Operations--

PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak Corporation (NASDAQ:RENT), the leader in multi-screen media measurement serving the advertising, television and entertainment industries, today announced a major, long-term contract expansion with Media General, a multimedia provider of broadcast television, digital media and print products.

In addition to renewing NBC-affiliate, WCMH in Columbus, Ohio, where Rentrak's TV ratings service is currently used by five-out-of-six major Columbus stations, 12 additional Media General television stations from their Mid-South Markets will be provided with Rentrak's advanced TV database currency including Augusta-Aiken; Birmingham; Charleston, SC; Columbus-Opelika; Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville-Anderson; Hattiesburg-Laurel; Jackson, MS; Myrtle Beach-Florence; Mobile-Pensacola; and Savannah, GA.

"Rentrak continues to deliver stable audience information in this world of ever-increasing viewing choices and has now expanded its services by adding demographic data and working with third party processors," said Steve Gleason, Vice President of Programming. "All of the stations in our Mid-South Market are excited to start selling with the Rentrak service."

John Cottingham, President & Market Leader of Media General's Mid-South Market, added, "We like what a database or census-like currency brings to our stations. Rentrak's daily ratings integrated with Polk's automotive database allow us to target both traditional demographics and now actual auto purchasers so our stations can more effectively sell the value each brings to our advertisers."

"Rentrak's growing relationship with Media General and our rapidly expanding footprint with key national, regional and local agencies is clear evidence that Rentrak's TV database is the ratings currency of choice in local markets," said Steven Walsh, Senior Vice President of Rentrak's Local Market Sales.

As the television ratings database currency, Rentrak provides daily measurement of all TV networks in all 210 media markets nationwide and is the only fully-integrated system of detailed satellite, telco and cable TV viewing data commercially available that incorporates information from over 19 million televisions.
