Grooveshark Releases Exclusive A3C Mixtape

In Collaboration with Stankonia Studios, Royal Flush Entertainment and SMKA Productions

NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The exclusive seven-track mixtape created through joint efforts by Grooveshark, Stankonia Studios, Royal Flush Entertainment and SMKA Productions is now available to stream for free exclusively on Grooveshark. The mixtape, titled "Grooveshark Presents... Stankonia Sessions: A3C Edition" was created during Atlanta's recent A3C Hip Hop Festival, held October 6 to 8, and features artists such as the Ying Yang Twins, 9th Wonder, Killer Mike, Freeway and Jarren Benton.

To create the mixtape, Grooveshark rented out Stankonia Studios, the studio created by popular artist Outkast, during Atlanta's recent A3C Hip Hop Festival. Artists were invited to choose from 20 tracks created by Grammy-nominated Royal Flush Entertainment and SMKA Productions to write their own verse on the spot and record a brand new track, with many tracks created in around two to three hours.

"We spent 14 plus hours in the studio each day and are really excited about the music that came out of the Stankonia Sessions during A3C," said Mike Walbert of SMKA Productions. "It was the perfect storm with A3C and Stankonia Studios and we are glad Grooveshark was able to make it happen."

The mixtape is available exclusively on Grooveshark at http://grooveshark.com/stankonia. Grooveshark also released four behind-the-scenes videos documenting the entire mixtape creation process, filmed by the Stankonia Studios film crew.
