VH1 Rakes in Big Primetime Ratings in October
October Marks VH1's Fifth Consecutive Month of Year-Over-Year Growth
Primetime Ratings in the Adult 18-49 Demo Increase 50%;
Total Viewership Soars 32% In Primetime
NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- VH1 rocked a double-digit positive ratings performance in October, marking the network's fifth consecutive month of year-over-year primetime ratings growth, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Throughout the month, the network averaged a .3 during primetime in the key adult 18-49 demo - a +50% increase compared to the October 2010 average. VH1 also saw its total viewership in primetime soar +32% year-over-year, averaging 579,000 total viewers.
Monday nights were the star performers in the network's October line-up, making VH1 the most watched non-sports cable network for that night in primetime among women 18-49 and women 18-34. Key players included the VH1 original series "Basketball Wives LA," "La La's Full Court Life" and "The T.O. Show." "Basketball Wives LA" averaged 1.5 million total viewers during its Monday night premieres; "La La's Full Court Life" averaged 1.2 million total viewers in the same frame; and "The T.O. Show" averaged 1.1 million total viewers.
Other October ratings highlights for VH1 include:
-- "100 Greatest Songs of the 2000's" scored a .4 (Live+ Same Day) rating
among 18-49 viewers -- up +33% versus VH1's prior four-week time period
average. The countdown series also drew in an average of 617,000 total
viewers.
-- "Pop Up Video's" Monday-Friday noon strip is drawing in the daytime
fans, averaging nearly 200,000 total viewers and scoring a +42% increase
in 18-49 impressions compared to the prior four-week time period
average.
