New "How To" TV Series Aims to Inspire All Bakers, From Novice to Expert

New "How To" TV Series Aims to Inspire All Bakers, From Novice to Expert

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --Lauren Groveman, a TV and radio personality and author known as the "home-baker's baker," will host a new TV series, Baking Made Easy®, which launches in October. Baking Made Easy promises to beone of the few "how to" baking shows on the air...possibly the only one that will appeal to all three types of home bakers: the novice, the seasonal baker and the everyday baker.

The show is supported by sponsors Reynolds® brands (parchment paper and baking cups) and the Sunflour® and Sunflower® brands of flour and corn meal mix, and produced by the Philadelphia-based, Emmy Award-winning TV production company, Multi Media Productions, Inc. (MMP).

"Unlike Cake Boss and Cupcake Wars, this series will educate and inspire all types of home bakers to create great-tasting baked goods for holidays and every day," says Jim Davey, series Director. "The series is filled with Lauren's time-saving tips, step-by-step demonstrations and exquisite recipes. In 26 episodes, Lauren bakes everything from tantalizing sweets to artisan breads...more than 70 recipes, all from scratch."

"A typical example of how we address different levels of home baking experience is our Drop Dead Gorgeous Holiday Desserts show that airs on November 14, 2011 on WE tv®," Lauren explains. "I show viewers how to create a jaw-dropping torte. A soothing pumpkin custard is the filling, baked on top of a simple cookie crust, and topped with an incredibly luscious bittersweet ganache -- all of which can be a snap for a novice baker."

"Then, to satisfy both the intermediate and expert baker, I add two separate, optional garnishes. One is a savory Pepita Praline...the other a cluster of lifelike chocolate leaves, created using real lemon leaves as molds...a 'MUST SEE' episode," Lauren exclaims.

Baking Made Easy will air simultaneously on Public TV, the Public TV digital channel, Create®, and on WE tv®.

The show is currently being distributed to Public TV stations nationwide. Public TV viewers are advised to check their local listings, and, if they do not see Baking Made Easy listed, to request the show by calling their local station.

WE tv airings will begin on October 31, and continue through the Spring of 2012. On WE tv, all episodes air on Mondays at 9 a.m. EDT and PDT, 8 a.m. CDT and 7 a.m. MDT. On Direct TV and Dish, WE tv episodes air at 6 a.m. PDT.

Airings in all venues will be accompanied by a series of 10 baking tips posted at Baking Made Easy on Facebook and You Tube, beginning the end of October.
