Small town girl blossoms among the celebrity-obsessed world of the paparazzi gossip site Popland.us, your daily dose of celebrity juice & interactive play

MIAMI, Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas announces the premier of its new daily-scripted series "Popland", the network's second undertaking in this format. "Popland" is the story of Carla and her journey from humble small town life to the star-studded big city paparazzi-world of celebrities, parties, and a love affair that rocks her world forever. Popland.us, a dedicated site for fans to drive show integrations and digital content, is where the world of "Popland" and real-life celebrity gossip will fuse. Tr3s will deliver 70 one-hour episodes and celebrity guest appearances throughout the season. "Popland" premiers Monday-Friday at 6pm (ET), starting October 3rd, 2011.

"We're extremely proud to present this funny, fast-paced and pop culturally-driven new series to our evolving line-up of scripted content," Charlie Singer, SVP of Content and Creative for Tr3s. "With a talented cast of fresh faces and an inspiring strong female lead, this show is a great example of our commitment to producing original content that resonates with our Tr3s audience."

Popland.us will be an extension of the series created to deliver the latest celebrity gossip from the real world and the world of "Popland'. Viewers will have the opportunity to control elements of the show like choosing Carla's gowns for red carpet events, among other interactive plot integrations. Fans can also claim if the site's daily 'chisme' is true or false on "The Rumor Mill" and "Tell Your Scoop" lets visitors dish on the latest buzz and their personal gossip. Users can also watch episodes, behind-the-scenes clips and slideshows as well as photos and articles on the cast and the characters by visiting popland.tr3s.com.

Raised in a small town, Carla (Sara Cobo) is an intelligent, loyal, charismatic and ambitious 18-year-old who dreams big and achieves bigger. She launches herself into the big city and lands the job of a lifetime at the most popular celebrity gossip site in the city, Popland.us. There she quickly learns that VIP access and exclusive shots come at a price. Although the competitive world of the paparazzi puts Carla's career on thin ice, her persistence and determination never let her down.

Popland features both established and emerging talent from Latin America and the US, including Sara Cobo (Mexico), Jon Ecker (U.S.), Ricardo Abarca (Mexico) and Manuela Gonzalez (Colombia). The story was written by Argentinean writers Marcelo Camano (Vidas Robadas, El Capo, Montecristo) and Claudia Bono (Ninas Mal; teen comedy, Ensename a Vivir).

The show's music video for its catchy theme song 'Click', a reference to the sound of paparazzi cameras vying for the perfect shot, has been all the buzz leading up to the premier thanks to its eclectic trio of Latin super stars. 'Click's' roster of talent includes Mexican beauty Anahi formerly of RBD, Moderatto genius Bryan Amadeus, and the eccentric Ale Sergi of Miranda. The video is available on www.tr3s.com.
