TORONTO and INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Knightscove Media Corp. (TSX VENTURE: KC.A)(TSX VENTURE:KC.B)("Knightscove", "Company"), a leading Canadian distributor of family friendly entertainment announced today its film Sophie is an official selection at the Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival and the Heartland Film Festival.
Sophie is a family-friendly tale directed by accomplished industry veteran Leif Bristow. The plot of the film centers on 17-year-old Sophie, an aspiring ballerina who grew up as a part of her family's small zoo. The family has to sell their beloved elephant Sheba to a traveling circus in order to raise funds for Sophie's ballerina studies. Heart stricken from losing her elephant, Sophie decides to join the circus to be close to Sheba and hopefully bring her back.
Sophie will be screened at the 2011 Heartland Film Festival on October 16th, October 18th, and October 20th. It was screened at Cinefest on September 25th.

The cast of Sophie includes several accomplished actors including Canadian star Brittany Bristow in the title role, John Rhys-Davies from the Indiana Jones films and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Erica Durance, best known for her role as Lois Lane on the Smallville television series, and Deborah Kara Unger, who had roles in several notable films including Hurricane, Crash, and The Game.
The Heartland International Film Festival was created in 1992 and quickly became one of the fastest growing film festivals in the country. It is currently a ten-day event that is a showcase for family-friendly movies.
