Witness an Explosion of Culture and Creativity at Notting Hill Carnival With Millennium & Copthorne Hotels

LONDON, August 24, 2011/PRNewswire/ --

This weekend will see over one million people fill the streets
of west London for Notting Hill Carnival and Millennium & Copthorne are

offering accommodation just minutes away from the action.

Every year on the August bank holiday, the streets of west London are
ignited with colour, culture, music and elaborate masquerade as the city
hosts the second largest street festival in the world, Notting Hill
Carnival. With entertainment including Caribbean dance, steel bands,
carnival floats and food stalls, this explosion of culture is not to be
missed. Millennium and Copthorne have three London hotels
[http://www.millenniumhotels.co.uk/destinations/abt_london.html ] situated
very close to Notting Hill that are in the perfect location for visitors to
the carnival.

This year the carnival kicks off on Saturday 27th August with a steel
band competition and Sunday 28th is 'Children's Day', when a shorter parade
takes place and costume prizes are awarded. On Monday 29th August the main
parade commences, featuring a magnificent display of acrobatics, stunning
floats and authentic music, all making this event totally unique.

Music is central to Notting Hill Carnival and there will be over 40
impressive static sound systems, as well as live stages featuring local
bands and international stars from across the globe, all with their own
individual eclectic styles. The route is lined with steel bands and
performers providing entertainment and amusement for carnival revellers.

Alongside the parades, hundreds of stalls line the streets and fill the
city with mouth watering aromas of traditional Caribbean delicacies,
including jerk chicken and curried goat. Once the main entertainment
finishes for the day, carnival after parties take place all over the area
for visitors to enjoy and these continue well into the night.

The Millennium & Copthorne hotels in London are all situated within easy
reach of the celebrations, particularly the Copthorne Tara Hotel London
Kensington, the Gloucester Hotel London Kensingtion and the Bailey's Hotel
London Kensington.
