Specialized Motion Picture Camera Platforms Now Available in Northwest to Support Industry Growth

Northwest Camera Support services Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana with a Panavision Remote Systems Supertechnocrane and Glidecam Gold system.

PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Northwest Camera Support, LLC, has announced the immediate availability of their motion picture camera platforms in the Northwest region. By providing the Supertechnocrane from Panavision Remote Systems and the Glidecam Gold system, producers, directors, and cinematographers filming in Oregon, Washington, Montana, and Idaho have an ideal solution to boost production values, while saving time and money.

The Northwest region has been a growing market for producing on-location feature films, television shows, as well as numerous commercials. In 2010, Portland and the surrounding area had 12 feature films and 4 television shows filmed there. With no other telescopic cranes in the region, having the Supertechnocrane and other gear in the area is beneficial to local film & television productions because they don't have to pay transportation costs from other markets, as well as only paying local vendors and employees, which is beneficial to producers from a tax incentive perspective.

"We recognized that it was cost prohibitive for filmmakers in the Northwest to increase their production values by importing these specialized tools from Vancouver, B.C. to as far as Los Angeles, California. From our base in Portland, we wanted to help directors and cinematographers tell their stories with Panavision's quality equipment, and at the same time help producers save money by taking advantage of the various states' tax incentives," Bryan Fletchall, President of Northwest Camera Support, explained. "Both Panavision Remote Systems and I are confident that our equipment will quickly be put to solid creative use in all four states."

In the coming months, the company plans to expand its operation when it launches a new time-lapse motion control rig currently under development.
