Rondor Music Publishing Promotes Kevin Hall to Executive Vice President, Creative
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Rondor Music Publishing, a division of Universal Music Group, has promoted Kevin Hall to Executive Vice President of Creative, it was announced today by Lance Freed, President of the company, and to whom Mr. Hall reports. Mr. Hall formerly served as Senior Vice President of Urban Music for the company.
In this new role, Mr. Hall will continue to discover and develop new and established songwriters, as well as coordinating with Rondor's synch and licensing departments to create writer collaborations and secure song placements on album projects, as well as for film, TV, videogames and numerous other media platforms.

Since joining Rondor in 2003, Mr. Hall has signed an impressive roster of songwriters, which most recently includes breakout star Jason Derulo, whose hit singles "Whatcha Say," "In My Head," "Ridin Solo," "Replay," and "Don't Wanna Go Home" have sold over 16 million copies. Derulo was the most played male artist of 2010 and was named BMI's Songwriter of The Year. Kevin also signed James Fauntleroy, whose many hits include "No Air" recorded by Jordin Sparks featuring Chris Brown and was BMI's Song Of The Year. Mr. Hall has also implemented joint ventures with notable multi-platinum producers Harvey Mason Jr. and Damon Thomas for Underdog Entertainment and with producer J.R. Rotem and partner Zach Katz for Beluga Heights/Net Worth Entertainment. Other songwriters signed by Kevin include Sly Jordan, Kwame, Trak Starz, Bobby Valentino, Eric Dawkins, Steve Russell and Timothy Bloom. Overall, Hall helped Rondor's songwriters garner 21 BMI and 17 ASCAP Most Performed Song Awards.
Prior to joining Rondor, Mr. Hall worked at Music Hype, a company noted for building websites for such record labels as Atlantic, Warner Brothers, Sony and Virgin. Formerly, Mr. Hall was Vice President of A&R for Island Records. He began his career in music publishing at PolyGram Music Publishing, where he served as Director of A&R, a title he concurrently held at Atlas Records.
