Notional Launches New Scripted Division With Three Original Projects

Notional Launches New Scripted Division With Three Original Projects

NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Notional, IAC's television production company and idea generator, today announced the launch of a new division that will focus on original scripted content development. Since October 2010, Notional has developed a dozen scripted formats and engaged in strategic partnerships with writers, talent, and various studios.

Notional's 3 initials original scripted projects include a sitcom with the Jim Henson Company, a procedural with "Numb3rs" writer Sean Crouch, and a one-hour animated dramatic series with writer Greg Navarro.

"Our two filters are very simple," said Dave Noll, President of Notional. "We're looking for scripted projects that are wildly original - jump off the screen, blow your mind stuff - and that have global potential. All three of these fit that description."

"Over the last year we've devised an extremely pointed plan. We've divided the scripted pitching season into two cycles," said Chachi Senior, SVP of Notional. "In this first cycle, we're taking out one procedural, one sitcom and - for what we think is the first time ever - one 60 minute, animated action/dramatic series. In the coming weeks, we'll have a few new projects ready for the second cycle."

Details on Notional's initial projects:

PUPPET LOVE - The Jim Henson Co.
30 min. Sitcom.
A classic romantic sitcom in the tradition of I Love Lucy, Mad About You or Dharma and Greg... but with a wildly original twist.

G.D. JUSTICE - Greg Navarro (writer)
60 min. Animated Action/Drama.
What Dungeons and Dragons is to Game of Thrones... The Superfriends animated series is to G.D. Justice.

HOUSE ARREST - Sean Crouch (writer)
60 min. Procedural Drama.
The National Treasure of procedurals. But it stars a Danny Ocean-type leading character, who just happens to be under house arrest.

Notional's scripted division is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), an entertainment and sports agency.
