Historic Photo Archive from Renowned Photographer Norman Seeff Available for Sale Through ICAP Media

One of a Kind Archived Images Feature World Famous Musicians, Actors, Artists, Comedians, Global Leaders, and Other Pop Culture Icons

CHICAGO, Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ICAP Media, a division of ICAP plc, announces the sale of copyrights and associated rights to famed photographer Norman Seeff's unprecedented collection of more than 1 million images. The archive also includes the physical negatives and digital versions of selected images. Seeff's dynamic portfolio of work spans more than four decades and showcases 900+ sessions with legendary actors, artists, athletes, comedians, global leaders, musicians, scientists, and other pop culture icons.

The collection offers a variety of potential revenue streams and value to an investor including sales of limited edition prints, donation to a museum for possible tax credit, and exploitation of copyrights.

Featured subjects in the archive include, among many others:

- Aerosmith - Jackson 5 - Ramones
- Andy Warhol - Jaco Pastorius - Ray Charles
- Canned Heat - James Taylor - Robert Mapplethorpe
- Carly Simon - Jimmy Page - Ronald Reagan
- Cher - John Belushi - Santana
- Crosby, Stills & Nash - John Lee Hooker - Sarah Vaughn
- David Carradine - John Mayall - Steve Jobs
- Diane Keaton - John Travolta - Steve Martin
- Dionne Warwick - Johnny Cash - Tammy Wynette
- Doobie Brothers - Joni Mitchell - The Eagles
- Earth Wind & Fire - Keith Richards - The Police
- Etta James - KISS - The Rolling Stones
- Fleetwood Mac - Larry Bird - Tina Turner
- Frank Zappa - Martin Scorsese - Tom Waits
- Gregg Allman - Mick Jagger - Van Morrison
- INXS - Miles Davis - will.i.am
- Ike & Tina Turner - Patti Smith - Willie Nelson

Norman Seeff's decades-long exploration of the creative process in action has led him to develop an expansive portfolio of ground-breaking work. Seeff's skills as a communicator and his ability to create an environment for artists and innovators conducive to the revelation of how they function creatively is unique and unprecedented in the world of fine art photography. The result is his photographic archive of unexploited and, in many cases, never-before-seen images documenting hundreds of sessions and conversations with musicians, film directors, writers, actors, comedians, athletes, entrepreneurs, aerospace engineers, scientists and more. These images, some of which are considered iconic, redefine how we think about these artists, as they are candid, fluid, and intimate.

With the exception of Seeff's documentary work, all of Seeff's photographs were commissioned - by a record company, a print publication, a corporation or by an artist. In each case, the images from the photo session were licensed for limited use: for a specific album cover, a magazine cover, an annual report, or publicity shots. All other rights remain with Seeff and are available for sale as a part of this unique opportunity. Seeff's documentary work includes his early images in New York in 1969-70 (including Andy Warhol & members of The Factory, Robert Mapplethorpe & Patti Smith) and his 1974 journey to Memphis to photograph America's great blues guitarists (including Sleepy John Estes and Furry Lewis). These rights are also fully owned by Seeff.

Seeff has largely held his photographs off the market while developing distribution opportunities for his unique film and tape archive documenting over 400 of his photo sessions. This separate film archive (not included in this offering) contains precious moments of artists and innovators in the act of creation and includes many intimate peer to peer discussions which illustrate the artist's creative process. With the recent launch of Seeff's video session with will.i.am on the Lexus sponsored website, LStudio.com and plans in place for this remarkable film archive to be further released through multiple media channels and exhibitions worldwide, Seeff's photographic archive will be more visible and in high demand.

"ICAP Patent Brokerage is proud to offer for sale the rights to this unprecedented archive. Norman Seeff's work has created some of the world's most iconic images and we believe this expansive portfolio will provide the buyer with significant monetization potential," commented Kevin Fiur, ICAP Patent Brokerage Senior Vice President.

A professional appraisal on the archive is available upon request. ICAP Patent Brokerage is now accepting bids to the rights to the 1 million+ image archive. To learn more about the archive and the opportunity, contact Kevin Fiur of ICAP Patent Brokerage at Kevin.Fiur@us.icap.com.
