DETROIT, Aug. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Defeat the Label (http://www.defeatthelabel.com), the anti-bullying movement that works to promote an inclusive, judgment-free society, void of social labels and stereotypes, announced their new initiative, national "Stand-Up Against Bullying Day"; at a free concert given by Atlantic Recording artist and Defeat the Label supporter Cody Simpson, at The Somerset Collection Grand Court in Troy, Michigan on Sunday, August 28th.
"Stand Up Against Bullying Day" will be a united movement among America's youth and educational staff to demonstrate their dedication to promoting inclusive, judgment-free schools across the world, where bullying is no longer tolerated. Defeat the Label, in conjunction with, Ken Kragen, 'Hands Across America' and 'We Are The World' creator, invite schools and all anti-bullying organizations to come together and join them as they physically stand-up against bullyingon Friday, May 4, 2012 at 12:00pm EDT.

Leading up to "Stand-Up Against Bullying Day", Defeat the Label encourages everyone to log-on to DefeatTheLabel.com and nominate their school to join national "Stand Up Against Bullying Day"on May 4th. The top schools with the most student nominations will be eligible for celebrity appearances, autographed swag and much more.
In addition, the organization will continue to create weekly missions calling on individuals to perform acts of kindness that defeat social barriers. Once users complete his/her mission, they can return to the DtL site and post a recap of their results.
All funds raised for Defeat the Label, a non-profit organization, are used to construct and implement anti-bullying curriculum in schools and create a 24 hour anti-bullying helpline. This online tool will connect users with qualified counselors to provide assistance and resources for individuals in need, 24 hours a day.
