Hughes Wins Two Orbital Slots in Brazilian Auction

GERMANTOWN, Md., Aug. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hughes Communications, Inc. (Hughes), through its subsidiary HNS Americas Comunicacoes Ltda., today announced that it has been declared the winner of two orbital slots in the auction conducted on August 30 by ANATEL, the Brazilian communications regulatory authority. The orbital slots are at 45 degrees West and 68.5 degrees West and will operate in the BSS, Ka-, and X-bands.
