Colorado's Sizzling Music Scene, Special Events and Festivals Come to Life on 'Colorado Live'
DENVER, Aug. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Colorado has long been known for its festivals celebrating music, film and the arts, as well as staples such as food, wine, and beer. There are also many eclectic, off-the-wall events like Frozen Dead Guy Days and Mike the Headless Chicken Festival that prove that Colorado is truly diverse in its entertainment offerings.
In addition to festivals and events, Colorado also plays host to exciting pro sports, cultural experiences, and major concerts at iconic venues, including Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Denver and venues throughout the state.
The Colorado Tourism Office now brings Colorado's buzz-worthy events to life with Colorado Live, an interactive site featuring events, a searchable calendar, links to buy tickets, concert feeds from Red Rocks, and real-time social media feeds.
In addition to a focus on Colorado's events, Colorado Live will also feature Colorado's attractions, accommodations, and restaurants located near venues. The site offers multimedia content designed to inspire visitors to explore Colorado's diverse offerings.
"For many years, Colorado has been home to some of the most amazing entertainment events and festivals in the country," said Al White, director, Colorado Tourism Office.
"Colorado's music and film festivals have launched careers and we're known for some of the biggest and longest-running events in the country, from Aspen Jazz Fest and the Vail Film Festival to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and of course, concerts at Colorado's legendary music venue, Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre," remarked White.
Visitors to www.COLORADO.com/live/ can also integrate events and festivals into the 'My Colorado' custom itinerary functionality on www.colorado.com. This will allow visitors to create bespoke itineraries incorporating festivals, events, accommodations, dining, recreational activities and more.
