The band's drummer and vocalist Buddy Greco Jr. has a legendary background. His father is none other than pianist and singer Buddy Greco. Buddy Jr. has not only played with his father, but has drummed for such greats as Keely Smith, Jerry Vale, and Jack Jones just to name a few. His roots, however, have always been in Rock 'n' Roll. Prior to joining Suzanne Oliver, Greco has released 4 LPs, 3 CDs, and 2 EPs.
Ms. Oliver and Mr. Greco have an encyclopedic knowledge of rock 'n' roll that comes through as you listen to the album. Having a vibrant female lead combined with great original songwriting gives the album its unique feel.
Both from the east coast, Suzanne Oliver and Buddy Greco Jr.'s influences were The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Heart, Barbara Streisand, and Annie Lennox. They have combined their talents and have come up with an "all original" unique and fresh sound. The single on the album, "Military Dance," is a heavy blend of throbbing, electronic rock that makes for an attention-grabbing listen.
"Military Dance" is available online through iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and most online music outlets. A CD release party will be held this Friday, July 22nd at 8:30PM at the Grind Brgr Bar in Palm Springs, CA. Call 760-325-5200 for directions. For more information, bookings or interviews, please contact Titanium Media Group at 855-633-4201 Extension 4.
Biographies:
Suzanne Oliver:
Born on the east coast, she started talking and singing on the same day. As a child, she sang like Karen Carpenter while playing potato chip boxes. Then, she grew into a combination of Annie Lennox, Barbara Streisand and Ann & Nancy Wilson. She belted it out playing guitar and keyboards. She's been performing in casinos, night clubs and concert venues across the country in addition to writing/recording originals and developing her own unique style. Now, she is now in California fronting an impressive cast of musicians.
Buddy Greco Jr.:
A product of a musical family, it's no surprise that Buddy Greco became interested in music at an early age. By 5 years old he was playing drums and by 12 added bass and guitar to his repertoire. He has led bands in NY, played major clubs, released numerous recordings, appeared in several independent films and has done extensive session and production work. Today, Greco adds warm vocals and diversity to The Suzanne Oliver Band.
