Public Viewing Bayreuth 2011: First the Ring for Children and then Lohengrin for all at the Siemens Festival Night 2011

MUNICH, July 22, 2011/PRNewswire/ --

The fourth Siemens Festival Night will be held on Sunday the 14th of
August 2011 at the Bayreuth festival grounds in Germany. Up to 40,000
viewers can enjoy an all-day programme dedicated to Richard Wagner. Thanks
to the commitment of Siemens AG, two operas will be broadcast on the 180 m2
LED large-scale screen as a part of the 2011 Public Viewing to mark the
100th Bayreuth Festival.

The programme begins in the morning with a public viewing for children
at 11:00 o'clock showing Ring of the Nibelung in a 90-minute film version.
Afterwards, Siemens is offering an interactive Wagner experience tour for
children age 7 and up, which gives small Wagner fans a glimpse behind the
scenes of an opera production. Theatre people will be crafting, building,
painting, composing and otherwise working with children at five stations
looking at the elements of children's opera.

In the afternoon, there will be an opportunity for several thousand
spectators to gather at the Bayreuth festival grounds to follow the live
transmission of Richard Wagner's Lohengrin in perfect HD video and 3D sound
quality (surround sound). The performance is very telegenically staged by
Hans Neuenfels with Klaus Florian Vogt in the lead role. The visual effects
are particularly impressive on the enormous LED screen, which is twice as
big as for the previous year. The surround sound, which has been
specifically tailored to the festival grounds, will ensure a musical treat.
An excellent gastronomic range of food at the festival will also help ensure
the perfect setting for the special music experience in Bayreuth.

With a live web stream, this year Siemens is also offering music lovers
from all over the world the chance to experience Lohengrin live on the 15th
of August or to listen online within two weeks of the performance as an
on-demand version for a fee of 14.90 euros per viewing. (
