LOS ANGELES and ST. LOUIS, July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Charter Communications, Inc. Charter, which already offers digital TV customers instant access to thousands of the newest movie releases, television shows and other programming, will now offer ExerciseTV On Demand with the latest fitness videos and workouts from the hottest celebrity trainers and fitness experts, with new titles every month.
"Cable TV has evolved well beyond the couch potato days. Today television brings us entertainment, information and interaction, with choice and control to choose what to watch when you want," said Kara Lamberti, Charter's Senior Director, Video Product Management. "Charter technicians know firsthand that many customers' TVs are located directly in front of treadmills, elliptical machines and other exercise equipment. Expending energy is good for our bodies and minds, and exercise doesn't have to happen at a gym. A good workout can be at home in front of your TV, at your convenience."
ExerciseTV On Demand brings full workouts of all types, from cardio and abs, to yoga and dance - all available for free to Charter digital customers anytime. Expert fitness professionals including Jillian Michaels, Jackie Warner, trainers from the trend-setting Crunch gyms, Chris Freytag, Billy Blanks Jr., and more have videos in the ExerciseTV on-demand library.
Only about 22 percent of American adults engage in regular, sustained physical activity for at least 30 minutes five times a week, and only 15 percent exercise both regularly and vigorously. "Finding time to exercise isn't easy between juggling work and family," said Ms. Lamberti. "Motivating yourself to fit in a workout at the gym isn't easy either and ExerciseTV On Demand makes exercise convenient, easy and fun."
Charter digital customers can watch any of ExerciseTV's available fitness and workout videos at any time that fits their schedule. ExerciseTV On Demand is also the home for workouts from highly anticipated fitness DVDs before they hit stores, as well as complete workout plans for total fitness.
New titles added this month for Charter digital customers to enjoy include the brand new "The Butt Bible" fitness system, featuring innovative video workouts with international top fitness model and Swedish personality Pauline Nordin, from the Nordic version of NBC's "The Biggest Loser."
"Charter customers have a powerful, free and effective way to get in shape this summer," states Chris Mansolillo, President of ExerciseTV. "Now their remote control is a powerful piece of workout equipment that is the first step in starting a healthy workout routine right in their home."
To access ExerciseTV, simply go to Channel 1 or press the On Demand button on your remote. Select Sports Free, then ExerciseTV.
