Television Personality Added to Octagon's Entertainment Representation Team
LOS ANGELES, June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Global sports and entertainment leader Octagon today announced the appointment of television personality Lauren "Lo" Bosworth as a Manager of Client Services and Project Development in the agency's entertainment practice. A UCLA graduate, Bosworth will report to and work closely with Octagon Entertainment Managing Director John Ferriter. Bosworth will be based out of Octagon Entertainment's Los Angeles office and will officially start on June 6th.
In this role, Bosworth will work across all aspects of the company's entertainment business, including taking an active role in project development, client servicing and recruitment. By joining Octagon Entertainment, Bosworth has chosen to put her celebrity status aside as she actively pursues the business side of media and entertainment.
"After working as talent for over seven years, I'm thrilled to be given the opportunity to pursue a professional career on the business side where my true passion and interest in entertainment are focused," said Bosworth. "I'm confident that by taking me on as one of their own, the management team at Octagon has created not only a new way of thinking, but also a unique synergy in the manager-client relationship that no other team can match."
"We couldn't be more excited about working with Lo," said Ferriter. "Given her connection to a global media phenomenon, she has a unique perspective on the industry. Her relationships and insight will serve to benefit all of Octagon's clients. We welcome her with open arms."
A staple in the smash MTV reality show Laguna Beach, Bosworth has had a wide range of experiences in the entertainment industry. During MTV's first reality drama, Laguna Beach average 2.2 million viewers and drew nearly 3 million viewers to its finale. In 2008, Bosworth joined The Hills, one of the most successful MTV series in network history, for five seasons, including the final season where she was a lead member of the show. In January of this year, Bosworth also released her first book, "The Lo-Down."
Since expanding Octagon's entertainment capabilities in 2010 with the addition of Ferriter and his colleagues, the division continues to deliver landmark opportunities for its clients. In addition to packaging numerous television properties over the past year and a half, Octagon Entertainment has orchestrated three of the highest profile television deals for its talent including Piers Morgan with CNN for Piers Morgan Tonight, Nancy O'Dell with CBS' Entertainment Tonight and Dr. Drew Pinsky with CNN/HLN. Recently, Octagon Entertainment scored another major success with the appointment of client Steve Jones as the new host of X-FACTOR on FOX.
