2011 OC Fair Chef Series Includes Duff Goldman, Michael Voltaggio, Carla Hall & Rick Moonen

COSTA MESA, Calif., June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The OC Fair, in conjunction with the OC Restaurant Association, presents the 2011 OC Fair Chef Series, which will take place every Thursday in The Hangar during the 2011 OC Fair (July 15-August 14). The Chef Series is offered as part of the 2011 Fair theme, "LET'S EAT!" The series is free with Fair admission and all performances will be followed by a Q&A and autograph signing. In addition, prizes will be given away at each event. Guests purchasing a Super Pass ($25 until July 14) can attend each of the Chef appearances at one low price (Super Pass allows access to the OC Fair each day it is open).
July 21, 1:30 pm: Duff Goldman - Culinary Artisan
Star of the Food Network's Ace of Cakes, Duff Goldman is known for his unusual and daring creations. Join Chef Duff as he shares his tips and secrets for making spectacular, larger-than-life cakes.
July 28 (Time TBA): Carla Hall - Comfort Food
Finalist on Season 5 of the award-winning Bravo show Top Chef, Carla Hall believes in cooking from the heart. With her whimsical charm and contagious personality, Chef Carla will share her recipe for bringing love and joy into the kitchen.
August 4, 1:30 pm: Michael Voltaggio - The Art of Presentation
Winner on Season 6 of the award-winning Bravo show Top Chef, Michael Voltaggio has spent more than half of his life in the kitchen, starting at the age of 15. Chef Voltaggio will present cuisine that reflects the technique and style of today's modern chef.
August 11, 1:30 pm: Rick Moonen - Sustainable Seafood
An advocate for sustainable fishing and seafood, Chef Rick Moonen's passion for conservation has led him to national acclaim. Direct from his restaurant rm seafood at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Chef Rick will present a sustainable seafood dish.
The 2011 OC Fair, themed LET'S EAT!, is July 15 - August 14 and will bring 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports and fun, as well as the popular Super Pass (season pass), Pacific Amphitheatre Summer Concert Series, The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. The Fair is open Wednesday-Sunday. The OC Fair was ranked the eighth highest attended fair in the U.S. last year by Venues Today magazine.
