Musicians Wanted! Bands Compete for $2500 Grand Prize
SAN ANTONIO, April 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Historic Sunset Station is recruiting unsigned musicians for the third annual Summer Sounds at Sunset, a weekly summer music series. Five bands will compete every Saturday night in June for a spot in the finale concert on July 2nd. One hundred percent audience votes will determine the winner. The grand prize is $2500, second place takes home $1000 and third place will receive $500. All finalists will receive a spot in the finale concert at the Lonestar Pavilion, full rock star treatment, green room and VIP catering service.
This free music series begins Saturday, June 4th at 8:00pm. All interested artists should apply online at www.sunset-station.com/summersounds. All San Antonio and regional musicians are encouraged to apply including: Rock, Pop, Jazz, Folk, Texas Country, Acoustic, Latin, Reggae, Hip Hop or any other genre.
Summer Sounds at Sunset is presented by Historic Sunset Station and Clear Channel Radio.
Hundreds of famous artists have performed at the Lonestar Pavilion including: All American Rejects, Toadies, Maroon 5, Simple Plan, Isaac Hayes, Breaking Benjamin, Blue October, Melissa Etheridge, Snoop Dogg, Def Tones, Nickleback, Hoobastank, Static X, Blues Traveler, Billy Idol, Flaming Lips, and many, many more. Historic Sunset Station is one of the largest historic special event facilities in San Antonio. Located in downtown San Antonio, just minutes from the River Walk and the Alamo, the restored 10-acre facility in the surrounding historic district of St. Paul Square, hosts functions of all sizes from 10 to thousands of guests.
