Larry Delia Named VP/General Manager of Tribune's Indy Television Duopoly

Broadcast Veteran Served Previously in New Orleans, Harrisburg

CHICAGO, April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Broadcasting today announced that Larry Delia has been named vice president/general manager of the company's Indianapolis television stations, WXIN-TV and WTTV-TV effective immediately. Delia has been vice president/general manager of WPMT-TV, in Harrisburg, PA, since summer 2008, and served in the same capacity at Tribune's New Orleans duopoly, WGNO-TV/WNOL-TV, from 2002 to 2008.

"Larry is a talented, innovative executive who has great experience managing television duopolies," said Jerry Kersting, Tribune Broadcasting's president. "Our Indianapolis stations have enjoyed tremendous growth, due largely to our focus on local programming and the expansion of local news. Larry understands the market and knows what's necessary to keep the momentum going."

As vice president/general manager of WPMT-TV, Delia has overseen the expansion of the station's local news offerings from 17 hours per week to 32 hours per week, the debut of news in high-definition, and a quadrupling of traffic to WPMT-TV's web site. Among adults 25 to 54, the station leads the market in primetime access, primetime and late local news.

"I'm really proud of the success we've enjoyed in Harrisburg," said Delia. "There is a great team here, and a lot of people have worked awfully hard--the ratings results speak for themselves. In addition, we've played a significant role in the community, focusing on local issues that really matter to people, like helping to keep open the Harley Davidson plant, which saved jobs."

Previously, Delia was general manager of WVNY-TV, Burlington, Vt., from 1998 to 2002. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at WTIC-TV (FOX61), Hartford, Conn., which was acquired by Tribune in 1997. He joined that station as a sales account executive in 1988, was promoted to local sales manager in 1992, national sales manager in 1996 and general sales manager in 1997.
