8th Tarifa Africa Film Festival Presents African Projects Seeking Co-Production

Ten African film directors will be pitching their new film projects at the 3rd Africa Produce Co-Production Forum to Spanish film producers and TV commissioning editors including representatives of Al-Jazeera Documentary Channel. África Produce, the only co-production forum for African films in Spain takes place within the 8th Tarifa African Film Festival (FCAT) in Spain, from June 11th to 19th.
There are four feature projects and three documentaries selected from Cameroon, Mauritania, South Africa, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Congo and Equatorial Guinea from total of 41 entries from 17 African countries, also including Namibia, Ivory Coast, Niger, Senegal, Zimbabwe, RD Congo, Ghana, Mali, Kenya, and Mozambique.
Three other projects have been specially invited to participate, two form Spain but focusing on African stories and with African authors or protagonists and one documentary project from Egypt, due to the special relevance of this winter peaceful revolution there for the entire region and continent.

Africa Produce received for this year 41 entries (26 feature-length projects and 15 documentaries) from 17 African countries (apart from mentioned above also from Namibia, Ivory Coast, Niger, Senegal, Zimbabwe, RD Congo, Ghana, Mali, Kenya, Mozambique). This means doubled number of entries in comparison to the last year forum.

3rd Africa Produce Forum takes place also thanks to kind support of Spanish Agency for International Development and Cooperation (AECID), Department of Culture of Andalusia and Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA).

African film festival of Tarifa (FCAT ? Festival de Cine Africano de Tarifa) is an independent and competitive film festival and one of the biggest African film festivals in Europe. The FCAT celebrates its eighth edition from 11th to 19th June in Andalusian town Tarifa - the closest town of continental Europe to the African continent - the two continents are in fact only 14 km apart from one another in this geographical area.
