Goodnight Kiss Music Competition Seeks Additional Sponsors for 2011 Event

Goodnight Kiss Music Competition Seeks Additional Sponsors for 2011 Event

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., March 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Longtime music publisher Goodnight Kiss Music (Hollywood, CA) is holding a new songwriting competition for 2011, and is seeking additional outside sponsors for the event.

The contest begins in August, with winners announced in December. This year's prizes include cash, instruments, hard drives, Swarski Crystal earbuds and Crystal USB bracelets. For the 2011 contest, Goodnight Kiss is seeking additional outside sponsors desiring to promote their music-related service or business through donating prizes or sponsoring ads.

Reflecting the increasing importance of video tracks for music, one of the 2011 prizes will be a music video of the winner's song, provided by sponsor TuneVid.

Since 1987, the Goodnight Kiss competitions, reaching an ever-larger audience and increasing number of entrants, have tapped the best new material from professional and semi-professional artists and musicians. "These are the people who are just on the edge of finding success," noted publisher Janet Fisher. "They are ready, but have had little access or opportunity for showing their work to the industry. We do that." Past winners of Goodnight Kiss' competitions have had their songs placed in films, commercials, and TV shows, as well as cut by others.

Goodnight Kiss is offering sponsors an Executive Package ($2,000), Business Package ($1,000), Small Business Package ($500), Professional Package ($100), as well as individual sponsorships for $50. Up to 50% of the cost of an ad can be "in-kind," in the form of an equal-value service or product. Executive, Business, Small Business and Professional sponsors get featured for a minimum of 12 months on the Contest Webpage (prominence dictated by the amount of the package) and on the Sponsor Webpage, and in the company's monthly newsletter, sent out electronically to over 6,000 songwriters, musicians, producers, and music journalists.

"We will promote (sponsors) in all our other PR - we usually do a series of releases during the entry time," Fisher said. "And we also give them a Web presence at our site until our next contest - so at least a year for most sponsors."

Past winners of Goodnight Kiss contests include Rich McCulley (one of whose songs was used on the Grey's Anatomy TV series), Jack Anthony and Gregory Bennett (whose winning entries were used in TV commercials on KRCA-TV, Los Angeles), and John Palermo, whose "A Little Bit Softer" was cut by young artist Katie Dee. "Sweet Little Christmas Kiss," by the songwriting team of Howe, Plavnieks & Heck, which won a spot on Goodnight Kiss' "To All a Goodnight" Christmas-themed CD, is in the film Happy Holidays: The Movie.
