MTI Film Uses Pixel Power for Titling

MTI Film Uses Pixel Power for Titling

Pixel Post software supports file-based post-production environments; delivers broadcast standards and efficiency needed for next generation post

BURBANK, Calif., Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pixel Power announced today that MTI Film, a leading provider of post-production services for film and video, is using Pixel Post graphics software for titling final versions of leading television shows including Rizzoli & Isles for TNT and The Defenders for CBS.

"Pixel Power has been the way to do titling for high end episodic television for ten years, ever since HD became important," said MTI Film director of engineering John Stevens. "A decade later, MTI Film is reinventing post production by offering collaborative, file-based workflows and Pixel Power is still the way to go. The only difference is that Pixel Power can now give us Pixel Post, installed on a standard PC sitting on our network that fits in seamlessly with the data-centric methods we use at MTI."

Pixel Post delivers all of the graphics, title creation and text editing features of a Pixel Power Clarity graphics system in a software-only package that runs on Windows XP or Windows 7 workstations. Finished content is output as standard video or image files, carrying video and key, for use in any compositing system. Pixel Post supports all common video standards used in post production including 1080p24. It also supports a wide variety of graphics file formats for importing graphics to be incorporated into pages and sequences. All of the precision and subtlety of the layout tools available in Clarity are preserved with the same familiar interface, while the system maintains the market leading smooth rolls which made credit sequences practical in HD.

"There are plenty of software products and editing systems that claim to offer professional titling, but they are nearly all wrong for high end postproduction," said Stevens. "Our titles need to be sent to broadcast and that means the output needs to meet all of the SMPTE specs. That's one of the things that sets Pixel Post apart; it is a true broadcast-class graphics solution that gets all of the little things right."

Pixel Post is available immediately. For more information visit www.pixelpower.com.
