Seven Bands to Battle at Journopalooza III
Seven Bands to Battle at Journopalooza III
Reporters Become Rock Stars to Raise Money for Media Charities Friday, January 21 at the National Press Club
WASHINGTON, Dec. 21, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A record-breaking lineup of seven musical acts has been confirmed for Journopalooza III. Four notorious veterans of the Journopalooza stage return by popular demand: Charm Offensive, Dirty Bomb, Nobody's Business, and Suspicious Package. Preparing for their debut appearances at the annual event, Journopalooza welcomes: The Stepping Stones, a Monkees cover band fronted by two Washington Post reporters; the folky eclectic sounds of Rebecca & Peter, whose talented singer spends her days at Bloomberg; and the classic rock of NRBK, whose members have a combined professional history of more than 50 years in media.

In another exciting new development, the feel-good showcase format of previous years will be replaced by cutthroat competition. At Journopalooza III, performers will battle fiercely for the title of "DC's Best Media Band."
General admission tickets are $25 in advance, and $30 at the door. VIP tickets are $40 and include a pre-show VIP reception with open bar and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets will be available for purchase through www.journopalooza.com on January 5. Proceeds from Journopalooza benefit three great media causes: The Committee to Protect Journalists/Journalist Assistance Program, The Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library, and Reporters Without Borders.
Journopalooza III is being generously sponsored by the Recording Industry Association of America, BAE Systems, the Brunswick Group, and Flying Dog Beer.
