Montana's Grizzly Hackle Re-Ignites the Fishing Show With Wild On The Fly!

MISSOULA, Mont., Dec. 28, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Forget two guys in a bass boat chuckin' and cluckin'. The Saturday morning TV fishing show comes of age January 1, 2011 on the Outdoor Channel with Wild On The Fly - a stunning 13-episode high-definition series of sensational angling adventures around the world.

In a special collaboration between the Grizzly Hackle Fly Shop and Wild On The Fly Journal of Fly Fishing Travel, the show's producers are "re-inventing" the conventional fishing show, evolving it from its often cliched, worn-out format into a vibrant travel show so interesting and visually appealing even non-anglers will want to watch. Every production is un-staged and genuine, a little bit edgy and frequently humorous, and always rich in culture, lore, food, scenery, wildlife, conservation and of course, cutting-edge fishing.

"Truly great fishing trips are as much about the travel as the angling," explains Executive Producer Joseph Daniel. "While each of our shows will definitely inspire you with amazing fly fishing, they will also immerse you in everything from culture to cuisine to conservation. Think of Wild on The Fly as a crazy blend of the Outdoor Channel, Food Network and Discovery."

Each episode of Wild On The Fly will air three times a week - 9:00am Thursday, 6:00pm Friday, and 1:30pm Saturday (EST) - featuring episodes from Alaska to Argentina, Mexico to Mongolia. The series premiers New Year's Day on the renowned waters of Missoula, Montana.

"We like to say that the rivers of the world begin here," states Co-Producer Steve Jensen. "Because the legendary Blackfoot, Bitterroot and Clark Fork rivers have inspired wanderlust in legions of traveling anglers, and the Grizzly Hackle Fly Shop here in Missoula has effectively outfitted them in that quest for wild fish in wild waters."

Each episode ends with an in-depth discussion of gear and clothing hosted by Grizzly Hackle owner and show Co-Producer Dan Shepherd. "We take a look at what is really needed for each particular destination and provide anglers with the necessary gear, clothing and flies to fish anywhere on the planet."

A complete schedule of the Wild On The Fly television series can be found at both www.grizzlyhackle.com and www.wildonthefly.com, along with extensive gear and travel planning resources to fly fish Montanaor around the world. DVDs of each show are also available for purchase.
