Mission Media Group Promotes Craig Larson, Adds Two Shows to Line-Up
Travis Rodgers, Bob Berger and Craig Shemon to Lead Syndicated Shows
HOUSTON, Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Mission Media Group, LLC, which distributes content under the Sporting News Radio (sportingnewsradio.com) name, announced that Craig Larson will become program director for the network. Additionally Sporting News Radio will launch two new shows on Monday, January 3, 2011.
Larson has been with the network for eight years, serving as the company's executive producer. "Craig has orchestrated our programming for years. This promotion merely affirms the role he has been doing for a long time. Under Craig's leadership, we believe we offer the industry's best sports talk content," said Chairman and President of Mission Media Group, LLC, David Gow.
Gow also announced two additions to the network lineup. Travis Rodgers, the 14-year lead producer for the Jim Rome show and a current host on 1560 The Game in Houston, will step in to serve as host on "Travis Rodgers Now," a three-hour show airing from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. CST. "Travis is a rising star," said Gow. "We have gotten a great response for his show here in Houston and we are confident that he will succeed nationally."
Rodgers offered, "It's hard to explain how excited I am to do a national show from Houston. When I came to 1560 the Game, this was a goal of mine. I have worked in national radio for a decade and a half, it's what I know best, and I am incredibly excited to get started."
Additionally, Sporting News Radio will launch "Gamecast," a fast paced, high-energy sports program airing weeknights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., CST. Weekend veterans Bob Berger and Craig Shemon will host, sharing time with anchors David Nuno and Robert Neagli. "Berger and Shemon are proven products. This show creates an opportunity for affiliates to also air them during the week. We believe the show is a great standalone product, but also will fit in well next to some affiliates' play-by-play commitments," said Gow.
Travis Rodgers and Gamecast join Steve Czaban and Peter Gammons on the recently revamped line-up at Sporting News Radio. "During the past year we have made significant investments in talent and believe we enter 2011 with a great deal of momentum," said Gow.
