Dream to Reality: Lawyer Risks All to Be Paradise Hunter TV Host

Carolyn Zegeer's dream to transform int'l perceptions and breakdown cultural barriers could become reality as she competes in the Paradise Hunter TV Host search

MIAMI, Dec. 10, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- When most people are playing it safe, Carolyn Zegeer has put her career on the line. She left her job as an attorney for a shot at her dream: to host an international travel show. With no money and little experience, Carolyn began to host local television, write scripts and research international destinations. Paradise Hunter was accepting sixty-second audition videos to select the host for their new travel show. When Carolyn heard about the opportunity, she knew it was meant to be. No stranger to international travel--Carolyn has lived in four countries, travelled to more than 20 others and is trilingual. "I was 19 when I moved abroad for the first time and the experience was transformational," she explains. "I understood the power of living in other countries and how much that invites you to grow."

After putting herself through law school and becoming a government attorney, she knew it was time to go for broke. Carolyn was selected as a semi-finalist out of 700 applicants. With 33,000 votes, she is currently ranked #1 in the international competition. Her video has been shared 6,000 times on Facebook and viewed 33,000 times on YouTube. She is quickly becoming a social media sensation. Tommy Shaw of Styx (co-writer of two songs in Carolyn's video) said, "Carolyn is perfectly qualified for the job. Add to that her on-camera comfort, good looks and energy level, and it appears that this show is more or less her life story. Growing up, Carolyn spent summers visiting family in Puerto Rico; she recalls playing on mountainsides and exploring caves. A self-described adventure junkie who is as comfortable jumping out of an airplane as she is in a courtroom, Carolyn is ready for her next adventure, Paradise Hunter.
