DaCast Celebrates Holidays With Free Bandwidth Contest

New live streaming platform giving away $10,000 worth of prizes

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- DaCast, the first fully integrated, self-service platform for live streaming, today announced a contest that gives away $10,000 worth of prizes to ring in the holidays.

Starting at 8AM (Pacific Standard Time) on December 16, 2010, users will have the opportunity to sign into the site to enter the contest. Contestants will have to be quick, as winners are chosen on a "first come, first served" basis. In total, 400 lucky winners will be selected and notified. At stake is a pool of $10,000 worth of streaming bandwidth, which can be used to broadcast rich, live content to viewers while DaCast foots the bill.

The contest rewards participants with free access to DaCast's broadcasting features that are delivered from a web-based self-service environment. The platform will let both contest winners and regular users start broadcasting easily and quickly along with the ability to monetize their content. In addition to creating rich content for viewers, winners will be able to generate money from their broadcasts. High quality, live streaming is also provided, backed by a partnership with EdgeCast Networks Inc., a leading CDN (content delivery network).

The contest sign up process runs for twelve hours and closes that same day, December 16, at 8PM (Pacific Standard Time). Winners have 30 days from that point to then redeem their prize. The contest is only open to users located within the United States.
