2011 Messina Wildlife Rose Parade Float to Stop Viewers and Animals in Their Tracks

2011 Messina Wildlife Rose Parade Float to Stop Viewers and Animals in Their Tracks

Messina Wildlife Management manufactures a complete line of organic animal repellents, used to help battle pests in traditional and organic gardening.

WASHINGTON, N.J., Dec. 7, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- When viewers tune into this year's Pasadena Tournament of Roses® Parade on New Year's Day, they can expect to see one organic gardening float that will surely stop them in their tracks as well as the critters that frequent their yards and gardens. The float, titled "In Good Nature," is the brainchild of first time participant and animal repellent manufacturer Messina Wildlife Management and renowned float builders AES Creative.

The float features an organic gardening enthusiast's dream come true: bright, vibrant flowers and hearty vegetables protected from the all too frequent attack of animals including a deer, rabbit, groundhog, skunk, raccoon, beaver, mole, goose, chipmunk and even an armadillo. As viewers tune in to see the amazing designs created entirely out of live plant material, Messina Wildlife hopes to send the message that it is their line of Animal Stopper products providing the protection from unwelcome garden pests.

"We really can't wait to see the expression on people's faces when they see our float," said James D. Messina, Vice President. "Everyone I know can relate to our theme. This is really our salute to the thousands of home owners and gardeners who've embraced our products over the years."

Joining James and his father Jim Messina, Sr. on the float is a very special guest, Candace Rodriguez, a local Los Angeles teen battling leukemia at Children's Hospital, in her last treatment of chemotherapy. Through a local morning news station, the Messinas became aware of Candace's wish to participate in the parade, and they immediately invited her to share the experience with them.

"We told Candace that we were looking for someone with the best smile to help us wave to people on the parade route," James added. "We are really excited to make her wish come true."

This is Messina Wildlife Management's first foray into the international event that is broadcast to more then 200 countries around the world. This year's event will be televised on ABC, NBC, Univision, HGTV, The Hallmark Channel, RFD TV and KTLA.
