WXYZ-TV and Art Van Furniture Announce Together We Can

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 12, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- WXYZ-TV and Art Van Furniture have teamed up once again to make a difference in the fight against hunger in Metro Detroit.

From November 14 through December 12, donations of canned goods and non perishable food items can be dropped off at any of the 17 Art Van Furniture locations throughout Metro Detroit. The items will be given to Gleaners Community Food Bank for distribution to food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and disaster relief agencies throughout Southeastern Michigan.

It is estimated that one in eight people in Michigan will need emergency food assistance this year.
