COMEDY CENTRAL's "Night of Too Many Stars" now in its fifth year, features top comedic talent from stand-up, television and movies, including host Jon Stewart, Tina Fey, Steve Carell and others, gathered together to support autism education and awareness programs.
The show will air at 9 p.m. EDT on Oct. 21 on COMEDY CENTRAL. Viewers will be encouraged to call the celebrity-operated phone bank and make a charitable donation to support the cause.
"White Castle has supported autism awareness and education for many years. It's one of many causes our company and family is passionate about," said Jamie Richardson, White Castle vice president of corporate communications. "We jumped at the chance to help support an event like a 'Night of Too Many Stars' that draws such a large audience's attention to one issue."
On behalf of White Castle's sponsorship of the program, Nest Fragrances will donate 10,000 of the popular The Original Slider®-scented candles it created with White Castle to raise funds for Autism Speaks. The candles will be given to viewers who make a $100 or greater donation on the night of the show.
"The slider-scented candles were launched this May in honor of National Hamburger Month and sold out across the country in less than 48 hours," said Laura Slatkin, founder and CEO of NEST Fragrances. "We want to thank our donors with one of the most coveted candles in the country when they help COMEDY CENTRAL support autism education on October 21."
White Castle will feed the hard-working celebrities hot, fresh White Castle sandwiches during the evening.
As part of COMEDY CENTRAL's "Night of Too Many Stars," celebrities also will autograph a White Castle Original Slider®-scented candle, which will be up for auction online in late 2010 with proceeds benefiting Autism Speaks.
Since 2005, COMEDY CENTRAL's "Night of Too Many Stars" has raised close to $7 million for autism awareness and family service programs across the country. For more information, visit http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/night_of_too_many_stars/index.jhtml.
