Celebrities Paint to Help Little Kids Rock
Rock 'n' roll royalty including Gene Simmons, Slash, Tim McGraw and James Hetfield personally decorate Fender® Stratocasters® to raise money for music education
CEDAR GROVE, N.J., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Little Kids Rock (LKR), a leading nonprofit provider of free musical instruments and teacher trainings to U.S. public schools, today announced the launch of a celebrity guitar auction that will help raise money to restore and revitalize music programs nationwide. The auction will feature an array of Fender® Stratocasters® that have been uniquely decorated by artists including Gene Simmons, Stephen Colbert, Stan Lee, pop art icon Kenny Scharf, actress Juliet Lewis, Grateful Dead artist Stanley Mouse, and many more. The bidding is live online October 1st and ends on October 21st to coincide with Little Kids Rock's annual "Right to Rock" celebration on Oct. 21st at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill.
The "Right to Rock" Auction will include approximately 30 Fender® Stratocaster® guitars painted or otherwise decorated into one-of-a-kind pieces of rock 'n' roll memorabilia by: Gene Simmons, Stan Lee, Stephen Colbert, Kenny Scharf, Slash, Lou Reed, Stanley Mouse, Pixar artists, Jack Johnson, John 5, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, James Hetfield, Ziggy Marley, Michael Franti, David Stoupakis, Jason Newsted, Thomas Fuchs, Rich Jacobs, Travis Louie, Joe Satriani, Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Shelby Lynne, Rob Burns, Smash Mouth, Juliette Lewis, Miguel Calderon, Adam Lambert, Monte Pittman, John Jenkins.
