Free Speech TV to Broadcast Exclusive Live Coverage of 'One Nation' March in Washington D.C.

Thom Hartmann & Laura Flanders to Host

DENVER, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Free Speech TV (FSTV) announced today that Thom Hartmann and Laura Flanders will host Free Speech TV's exclusive live coverage of the "One Nation Working Together March" in Washington, D.C. on October 2, 2010. The event, expected to draw tens of thousands to the Lincoln Memorial, will feature labor and community activists, students, entertainers, civil and human rights leaders and progressive politicians, all coming together under the banner of "Jobs, Justice and Education for All."

"How can we move forward a progressive agenda for a middle-class economy?" asked Hartmann, host of The Thom Hartmann Program that airs daily on FSTV and is among the top ten rated radio talk shows. "We've got a big job ahead of us. I look forward to discussing this issue with the march participants and to hearing directly from unemployed and under-employed workers who will make the trek to Washington on October 2nd."

"The media today bombards its audiences with a numbing barrage of bad news and political double-talk," noted Flanders, host of GRITtv, a news and analysis program broadcast daily on FSTV. "Free Speech TV's coverage of the 'One Nation' march promises a refreshing respite, offering insightful solutions to the serious challenges this country faces."

The march is being organized by nearly 200 groups, including the AFL-CIO, NAACP, National Council of La Raza, SEIU, NOW, United Federation of Teachers and Campus Progress. Their call

is to stand united politically in the face of an economic crisis and to "demand the changes we voted for." Featured speakers include Ben Jealous (NAACP), Maxwell Love (United States Student Association), Janet Murguia (National Council of La Raza), and Randi Weingarten (American Federation of Teachers).

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka in an interview with FSTV said, "We're joining with a diverse coalition of civil rights, religious, human rights, environmental and other progressive organizations as part of a 'One Nation' march. We want to show a progressive vision for America, one where we come together and we work together."

"We must reorder our nation's priorities to invest in our most valuable resource: our people. It is time we work together again to ensure that every one has the opportunity to achieve the American Dream -- a secure job, a safe home, and a quality education," said Ben Jealous, President of the NAACP and a leading march organizer.

"We look forward to seeing America turn out to be counted on 10-2-10," continued Jealous, "and for those who can't join us in Washington, we urge them to tune in to Free Speech TV's live coverage on television and the Web."

The television broadcast will include main stage speeches, interviews with organizers and analysts, and reporting from the crowd. It will air nationally from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Time on DISH Network channel 9415, DIRECTV channel 348 and numerous cable stations across the country.

Free Speech TV's coverage will be streamed live at www.freespeech.org, as well as on the sites of partnering organizations ranging from the National Urban League to The Nation magazine. The television coverage will also be carried live by LINK TV.
