'CHiPs' Star Larry Wilcox Gives Back Through 'Gems for Gems' Project
Charitable Organization to Benefit Children
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- "CHiPs" star Larry Wilcox has announced the creation of a new charitable foundation designed to benefit children around the world. Created out of the sapphire mine he managed in Montana, his plans are to donate special gems and bracelets and pendants made from the precious gems to terminally ill children and those in crisis. He also hopes to raise money to fund the health, educational and psychological needs of children around the world.
"I've always felt that children are the flowers of our future," said Wilcox.
The Gems for Gems project also plans to donate profits from special sales of the Montana sapphires to help fund youth activities.
"I have a special interest in children who have lost a parent or loved one in the line of duty as they served their country as a police officer, firefighter, federal agent or member of the military," said Wilcox, "but children all over the word need help and an opportunity to flourish."
Wilcox is currently in the process of getting non-profit status for the organization. As part of his efforts to help children in need, he will appear at a CHP event benefiting the agency's Widows and Orphans Fund on October 2nd and will be a part of the 7th Annual 10-4 Day in Hollywood on October 4th.
