NEW YORK, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The 29th annual Dominican Day Parade in Manhattan took place SUNDAY, AUGUST 8, 2010 FROM 11 AM-6 PM. The parade, which began in 1982 as a small celebration in Washington Heights and has evolved into one of New York City's biggest cultural ceremonies, featured live music, authentic Dominican food and elaborately decorated floats promenading up Sixth Avenue between 36th and 56th Streets. The parade is organized by Dominican American community leaders and is a showcase of national pride. Thousands of people - New York natives and tourists alike - attend and participate in the parade each year.
