'Operation Healing for the World & Giving with the Stars' Announces a Campaign of Hope and Peace Featuring CD Benefitting Victims of War and Disaster
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning artist/activist Geela Parish today announced the launch of Operation Healing for the World & Giving with the Stars, a campaign of hope, healing and peace featuring a charity CD For the Love of God. The peace song was written by Parish for the purpose of bringing global attention to the urgent need for all people to come together before it's too late.
"As we approach The International Day of Peace (September 21st), it's important to carry on the work of Gandhi and Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and recognize that everyone and the environment are impacted by the growing threat of nuclear war and the devastating consequences of senseless violence, regardless of financial status, religion or ethnicity. It's crucial to advance the cause of peace and non-violence because our ability to co-exist is the one condition of survival in a nuclear age," says Parish, a longtime peace advocate, social entrepreneur and author of the critically acclaimed book The American Dream. "What makes this campaign unique is the fact that it's the brainchild of an American who originally came from a region that has never known peace, the epicenter of senseless violence, the volatile Middle East."
The campaign of hope featuring For the Love of God, which has been recorded by various artists including Patti Labelle, is the current project of the grassroots movement Women Transforming the World (http://www.womentransformingtheworld.com/), which is part of the nonprofit organization One Spirit, One World also founded by Parish. The song as recorded by Parish is accompanied by a compelling YouTube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3jIRrnlZNY.
The campaign's mission is to make a global social impact by raising awareness about the urgent need to advance the cause of peace and preservation of the natural world while inspiring hope and giving. A significant portion of the proceeds from the sale of the song recorded by Parish will be donated to charitable organizations that support world peace and victims of war-torn countries and natural disasters, including the rebuilding of Haiti.
Many people have contributed their talents and time to the success of this campaign, especially Women's Radio (http://www.womensradio.com/), where Parish serves as a host and a contributor; Ben Heine (http://www.benheine.com/), world-renowned photographer; and publicist Adrienne Papp (http://www.adriennepapp.com/).
Parish is very encouraged by the tremendous response to the YouTube video shortly after its release. It has been picked up and ranked on top play and bestselling video lists of such reputable international websites as http://www.univision.com/, http://www.worldnews.com/ and http://www.videosurf.com/.
Plans for the song include recording it in different genres and languages. Parish hopes this campaign will inspire more celebrities to come onboard to advance the cause of peace and create a tsunami of compassion to overcome senseless violence and confront the challenges facing us all today.
People can support the cause by purchasing the song digitally through online retailers such as iTunes, CDbaby.com and Amazon.com. To donate online please visit http://www.womentransformingtheworld.com/.
