NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation has launched its 3rd Annual Primetime Emmy Season Online Auction, which is open for bids at www.ebay.com/emmysfoundation through August 1st at 4:00 pm PT. The auction is building on the excitement leading up to the 62nd Primetime Emmy® Awards airing on NBC on August 29th. The Foundation is the charitable arm of the Television Academy, and proceeds from the auction support its educational outreach and archival programs.
Exciting items for bid include VIP tickets and set visits to "How I Met Your Mother," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and a behind-the-scenes tour of "The Young and the Restless," hosted by series star Kate Linder. Select visits include a tour with a cast member, such as Aziz Ansari from the hit show "Parks and Recreation," and VIP seating to a taping of E!'s "The Soup," with a special meet-and-greet opportunity with "The Soup's" host and the star of "Community," Joel McHale.
"The auction is a terrific way for TV fans everywhere to take home a piece of a favorite show while supporting a great cause," said Norma Provencio Pichardo, Executive Director of the Television Academy Foundation. Additional items this year include a "Rescue Me" firefighter helmet signed by series star and creator Dennis Leary, and a signed script and memorabilia from the pop culture phenomenon, "Lost." For "Simpsons" fans there is a special issue of Emmy Magazine, the official publication of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, featuring signatures from all of the principal voiceover actors. For the ultimate Emmy fan, there is an Emmy poster with autographs of winners and presenters from last year's telecast including Ricky Gervais, Amy Poehler, Simon Baker, Neil Patrick Harris, Sigourney Weaver, and this year's host, Jimmy Fallon.
Other unique items include a framed swatch of brown fabric from "Monk's" trademark suit signed by series star Tony Shalhoub, a visit to a table read for "Family Guy," and props and signed memorabilia from such TV hits as "30 Rock," "Hot in Cleveland" and more. Television fans will also have the opportunity to experience the Emmys like a star by bidding on the HBO Emmys After-Party package.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Television Academy Foundation. The Foundation's key educational and preservation programs include its acclaimed Summer Internship Program, the College Television Awards, the Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship and the Archive of American Television, which features interviews with television's pioneers, innovators, artists and legends.
