Local Celebrities Match Wits With Best and Brightest From Greenville County Schools
Adult contestants for "Are You Smarter Than A Greenville County Schools Fifth Grader?" fund-raiser announced
GREENVILLE, S.C., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Some of your favorite local celebrities will be hitting the books this summer as they prepare to match wits with some of the best and brightest students in Greenville County Public Schools. Michelin and the school district announced today the celebrity contestants who will compete in the Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 fund-raiser "Are You Smarter Than A Greenville County Schools Fifth Grader?" All of the money raised will go directly to district schools to fund critically needed supplies.

The celebrity contestants, in alphabetical order, are:

Everyone recognizes the critical budget situation our public schools are in and many of them are stepping up to lend a hand."

The fund-raising event will be held at the Carolina First Center on Saturday, Aug. 21. Tickets are $10 for adults; $6 for children 12 and under. Admission includes a hot dog supper and an evening of family fun. Underwritten by Michelin, 100 percent of all funds raised go directly to public schools. Tickets can be purchased online at www.HelpSmartKids.com. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The game begins at 7:00 p.m.
