New Executive Spearheading Content for Scripps TV Markets

CINCINNATI, April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Bob Sullivan, an executive with more than 30 years of television news experience, has been named vice president of content for The E.W. Scripps Company's (NYSE:SSP) television division.

In this newly created role, Sullivan, 52, will develop and execute strategies for innovative local content that's built upon journalistic excellence and strong audience engagement. Incorporating both marketing and research, he will be responsible for building successful content models for multiple distribution platforms.

"We recognize the significance of providing quality content across a variety of platforms, and we know that Bob is the right person to help our stations advance the appeal and relevance of our content in every Scripps market," said Brian Lawlor, senior vice president of the Scripps television division.

Most recently, Sullivan was president and CEO of Sullivan and Associates Consulting, where he served a variety of clients in the areas of brand development, strategic planning, and message marketing. He provided research, production and analysis, and leadership coaching and training.

Sullivan also served as president of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, where he oversaw all aspects of Super Bowl XLII played on Feb. 3, 2008, in Glendale, Ariz. He and his team raised a record $17 million in operating revenue. Super Bowl XLII was the third-most-watched Super Bowl in history.

Before founding his consulting firm, Sullivan served as news director of Scripps-owned KNXV in Phoenix from 2001 to 2006. While at KNXV, the station received numerous honors, including the 2004, 2005 and 2006 regional Emmy Awards for Station of The Year and the 2005 regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall News Excellence.

Additional career highlights include serving as vice president and general manager of The Broadcast Image Group, vice president and general manager of WUSA in Washington, D.C., and vice president-broadcast of KPNX in Phoenix, as well as news leadership roles at WTLV in Jacksonville, Fla., KUSA in Denver, Colo., WISN in Milwaukee, Wis., KSL in Salt Lake City, Utah, and WKOW in Madison, Wis.

Throughout his career, Sullivan has served in a variety of volunteer capacities. Most recently, he served on the board of directors for Special Olympics-Arizona and board of directors for The Pat Tillman Foundation.

Sullivan earned a bachelor of arts in communication from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis.

The Scottsdale, Ariz., resident will be relocating to the Cincinnati area. He has a son, Ryan, and daughter, Delaney.
