More Than 500,000 Living Units in Connecticut Can Now Benefit From Video Choice With AT&T U-verse TV

ROCKY HILL, Conn., April 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Video choice and competition have reached Connecticut consumers in a big way across dozens of cities and towns. AT&T* today announced that AT&T U-verse(SM) services, including AT&T U-verse TV, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet and AT&T U-verse Voice, are now available to more than 500,000 living units across Connecticut.

Since launching AT&T U-verse in nine Connecticut towns in December 2006, AT&T has continued its efforts to make the service more widely available to consumers. AT&T U-verse is currently offered in parts of more than 100 communities across the state. Between 2007 and 2009, AT&T invested nearly $825 million in its networks in Connecticut, which helped facilitate the roll out of AT&T U-verse services across the state.

"Today's expansion of AT&T U-verse reflects our commitment to make the investments necessary to bring consumers across the Nutmeg State a new era of true video competition," said Rodney Smith, president, AT&T Connecticut. "We are thrilled to offer this innovative video choice to our customers. Local residents have asked for more choices in television service and today we're delivering."

West Hartford Mayor Scott Slifka added, "Offering choice, whether it is shopping, destinations or communication services affords opportunities for our residents. West Hartford is excited to be part of the U-verse build and look forward to working with AT&T to expand services in town."

"Now even more consumers in Connecticut can see what the U-verse TV experience is all about," said Steve Krom, vice president and general manager, AT&T New England. "As we continue to showcase the AT&T U-verse TV experience to Connecticut consumers and evolve our services with new features and enhancements, we look forward to more and more customers learning why U-verse TV is such a unique and exciting service."

AT&T U-verse TV is the only 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service offered by a national service provider, making AT&T U-verse one of the most dynamic and feature-rich services available today with features like Total Home DVR, 2009 Connecticut Quality Innovation Silver Award recipient, and the U-verse TV Multiview app, winner of the 2009 TelcoTV Vision Award.

Since the initial launch in Connecticut AT&T U-verse has introduced several enhancements to U-verse TV customers at no extra cost including:

-- Total Home DVR, which gives you the freedom to watch and manage
recordings from a single DVR on any connected TV in the house.
-- U-verse TV Multiview, an app that lets you watch up to four channels

variety of channels by sports, news and kids programming genres.
