NEWTOWN, Conn., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- "Our young people - a population that environmental organizations tend to overlook - will inherit the mess we've made of our water, air and land. We need to provide them with a set of skills that will enable them to appreciate and care for our finite set of natural resources," commented Julie Lyonn Lieberman.
On March 11, The Green Anthem song was performed by an estimated 6,000,000 school children across the United States as one of 7 songs performed in the 25th anniversary of The World's Largest Concert, an event created by MENC: Music Educators National Conference and hosted by Florence Henderson.
How can one person -- particularly a young person -- make a difference in a culture that prizes profit over the earth's sustainability?
"By participating in The Green Anthem Program, or by singing or playing The Green Anthem song, a generation of thinkers, leaders, and doers will be inspired to impact their local families and communities," stated Lieberman. "I've always believed in the power of the individual to motivate others by example."
The Green Anthem song and The Green Anthem Program - created by author and composer Julie Lyonn Lieberman - incorporates creativity and leadership, and can mobilize communities via their students with easy-to-implement steps towards a greener earth.
